Istanbul

Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey. It is earlier known as Constantinople. But the first name of the city was Byzantium, witch goes back to around 657 BCE. The city became the capital of the new Roman capital in 330 CE. The city has today in 39 district and is divided by the strait of Bosphorus. The western part of the city is in Europe and the eastern part in Asia. The Black Sea is at the Northern part of the city and the Sea of Marmara at Southern part.
