The mainroad southward out of Narvik is the E6. The E6 follows the southern shore of Ofotfjorden eastward to the village of Ballangen.where it leaves the fjord and crosses southeastward through the countryside, passes the Forså tunnel then we suddely see the fantastic mountains on eastern side of the Efjorden. This is one of those places you must stop and use your camera.

After crossing Efjord Bridge, we chose to use country road 827 south to Kjøpsvik, from where we used the ferry  across Tysfjorden to Drag. At Drag we where back on road 827 westward for 5 - 10 min before we again joined E6 down to Fauske.
