Saltfjellet  is a mountain area in Norland County, that seperates the two regions of Helgeland and Salten. The mountain area stretch from the coast to the Swedish border, and here the Arcitc Cicle "cuts" through the country. The main road from southern to northern Norway, the highway European Route E6, pass through the mountain, and likewise the railway, the Nordland Line.
