Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre or Five Lands is five villages on the Italian Riviera, south of Genova, in the Liguria region. Normally the northern village Levanto is noth countes as part of the Cinque Terre, but this is a nice place to start a hike through the Ligurian vineyards and the five villages. The hike takes in averge two hours from village to village. But the terrain is rough and the difference in highet is 400 meters, so if you want to walk to all the five villages from Levanto you prbably may spend a night halfway. The five Land or villages are form Levanto and south: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. These five villages, and the surrounding hills ar part of Cinque Terre National Park and is a UMESCO World Heritage Site.
If you don't want to hike between the villages, it is possble to take the train from La Spezia, a city not far from Riomaggiore. You can buy a day-pass and travel between the villages as much as you want up to midnight. The train uses about 10 min. between the villages.
